There are times when you may feel as if your plan to lose weight is impossible to achieve. You may do great the first couple of weeks, but slowly start losing your motivation. You may be starting to ask yourself why certain people can manage this when you can’t. What do they do to achieve success?
Your first step should be to determine your specific weight loss goals. Do you want to tone up, or do you have a good deal of weight to lose? Is there a weight or size goal that would make you happy? Maybe you are less concerned about scale weight and more concerned about general fitness.
Charting your progress can be a great way to remind yourself of the results you’re getting and stay motivated. Keep a diary off all the food you eat each month. Count your calories every day to ensure you stay within the calories you have been allocated for the day. Use that same notebook to keep track of your weight. Using graphs in your workout journal can help you identify and track patterns so that you can make positive changes.
When you are hungry you make bad choices, keep some healthy snacks around if you get famished. Those fast food restaurants will be awfully tempting even if you are prepared with alternatives! Determine your menus ahead of time, and take brown bag lunches each day. That way, you will realize financial savings as well.
Losing weight starts with both healthy eating and frequent exercise. Some people find that building and sticking to an effective workout program is a lot harder than putting together a healthy diet. But you can find ways to get engaged with exercise by tying it together with things you love or inviting friends to join you. Combine the two if you find it to be necessary. Go to a fitness class or on a walk together.
If you want to quit eating junk food constantly, then don’t allow it in your surroundings. Remove the temptation by either putting it away and out of sight, or just not buying it in the first place. By keeping healthy foods around at all times, you will be much more encouraged to eat them.
Be certain to tell your friends and family about your plans to lose weight. Your friends can provide the inspiration you need to attain your weight loss goal. When you get together with friends you will feel more motivated.
